[KILLEEN, Texas] The Carlson Law Firm equipped 1,450 students throughout the state of Texas for the new school year. Students in Killeen, Waco, Wichita Falls and surrounding areas received backpacks and school supplies in accordance with local school district requirements. Additional back-to-school support included community events for teachers and students in Austin, Round Rock and San Angelo as well as a state-wide classroom restock giveaway. All efforts were coordinated through Carlson Cares, the firm’s charitable branch.

Killeen, We’ve Got Your Back
On August 2, The Carlson Law Firm’s Killeen office buzzed with excitement as hundreds of local families rolled through the annual backpack giveaway. This year’s drive-through format made it easy for parents and children to pick up KISD-compliant backpacks filled with essential school supplies—all from the comfort of their vehicles.
The firm distributed around 700 backpacks packed with essential school supplies, ensuring students were ready to start the school year strong. Families also enjoyed a car-friendly scavenger hunt and a show-stopping display from the Mid-Texas Corvette Club’s life-size Hot Wheels. Parents and kids also received fun swag and refreshing popsicles.
Waco, Carry Confidence into the Classroom
On July 26, The Carlson Law Firm distributed 600 backpacks at its fifth annual backpack giveaway. Hundreds of families from Waco and surrounding communities joined the firm’s Waco staff at the Carlson Cares Party With A Purpose, where they received backpacks compliant with Waco ISD policies and filled with school supplies.
Carlson also provided entertainment to close out the summer with a smile. Children of all ages enjoyed several activities, including fun bouncy houses and even a water slide. In addition, the firm catered Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches for the whole family.

Wichita Falls, Giving Back One Backpack at a Time
The same day, about 200 miles away, The Carlson Law Firm’s Concho Valley teams greeted hundreds of Wichita Falls students along with Timesquare Media during their 2025 Backpack Giveaway.
Families in the Wichita Falls area gathered to celebrate the back-to-school season with a morning of family fun featuring free backpacks packed with school supplies, free Kona ice, games, and exciting giveaways for the whole family. 150 students received a backpack filled with school supplies and three lucky kids received one of three prizes including a laptop, a tablet and headphones, previously hidden in random backpacks.
Carlson Cares in the Classroom
Recognizing the invaluable contribution that teachers make to the success of our children, this year The Carlson Law Firm extended their annual giveaway to a monthly program. Each month, teachers and classroom educators from all over Texas will have the opportunity to enter the giveaway by completing the form online. Two winners will be selected at the beginning of the month, receiving $250 to purchase items for their classroom from their Amazon Wishlist.

Beyond Our Own Events
Austin
CBS and Telemundo Austin’s annual backpack giveaway 2025 marked Carlson’s ninth year supporting this event. Over time, this event has continuously increased its impact—this year the firm had the joy of contributing to efforts that put backpacks and school supplies in the hands of 4,000 students. Beyond providing monetary support towards the school gear, The Carlson Law Firm’s North Austin team was also present, wishing attendees a joyful new school year while they passed out free swag.
Round Rock
The road back to school in Round Rock was filled with smiles and hope as the school district collaborated with The Carlson Law Firm among other local businesses and organizations to equip schools and celebrate the upcoming semester.
RISD’s efforts were two-faceted with a successful school supply drive and a back-to-school party for the community. Carlson participated in both events. A well-deserved donation to RRISD Education Foundation will provide essential materials to classrooms in Round Rock. Former teacher turned board-certified attorney, Cheryl Miller-Powell, attended the party with some members of her legal team. There, they had the pleasure of handing our swag as they cheered on excited students and parents.
San Angelo
SAISD New Teacher Tailgate
As San Angelo Independent School District welcomed new teachers joining their ranks, Carlson joined the commotion at their first annual Teacher Tailgate Party. The firm provided teachers with purposeful swag they can use in their classrooms or at home.
Homefront Operation Back-to-School Brigade
The Carlson Law Firm’s San Angelo team attended Operation Homefront’s Back to School Brigade event at Goodfellow AFB. Following their yearly, nationwide tradition, Operation Homefront provided school supplies to pre-registered families. The Carlson Law Firm’s San Angelo team enjoyed making connections with military families serving in the San Angelo Community. Carlson also handed out swag, including lunch bags, lip balms, first aid kits, and fidgets for all who visited their booth.
