SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Carlson Law Firm helped students throughout the San Marcos community prepare for the upcoming school year by distributing 200 backpacks and school supplies during its San Marcos Backpack Giveaway on Aug. 8.
Hosted through the firm's Carlson Cares initiative, the free event welcomed students at all levels from elementary to college to fill their backpacks with the school supplies that best matched their educational needs.
The giveaway reflects The Carlson Law Firm’s ongoing commitment to supporting local students while helping families prepare for a successful school year.
“We wanted every student to have the opportunity to choose the supplies that best fit their educational needs,” said Kayla Alarcon, attorney at The Carlson Law Firm. “Seeing students at every stage of their educational journey leave with the supplies they need reminds us why giving back to the communities we serve is so important.”
Helping San Marcos Students Start Strong
Students and their families gathered Saturday afternoon at The Carlson Law Firm's San Marcos office to receive backpacks and choose from a variety of school supplies. Instead of providing pre-packed bags, students were able to select the items that would benefit their education the most.
From elementary school through college, the event was designed to help students start the academic year with confidence while easing some of the financial burden that comes during back-to-school season.
The San Marcos Backpack Giveaway was part of Carlson Cares’ 2026 backpack campaign, which continues to provide backpacks and school supplies to students across Texas.
