The Carlson Law Firm cares about people and wants to help. For victims of sexual violence or trauma, we want to make sure you feel supported and know that you do not have to go through it alone.
If you or someone you love has been the victim of sexual assault, the following is a list of resources to help with your healing journey:
Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women
The DOJ has a list of state domestic violence coalitions (including U.S. territories), as well as a number of important hotlines for victims and survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Healthline has advice on what to do after a sexual assault and crisis hotlines, including those for the hearing impaired. The site also has information on therapists, medical care, making a report to law enforcement and seeking legal counsel.
National Sexual Violence Resource Center
This site has resources for victims to find localized help in their state and understand what their options are. There is also information for family and friends to better support their loved ones.
The resources for sexual assault survivors are divided into cities and counties of Texas. Resources can also be found by organization, and there is help for all survivors.
RAINN offers 24/7 help to overcome the trauma of sexual assault with mental health support and self-care. They provide information on reporting to law enforcement and how to seek medical attention.
RALIANCE has a compilation of rape crisis centers sorted by state with multiple methods of contact.
This site offers resources for victims of sexual violence and childhood trauma, including creating a safety plan and finding local help. They also have resources for different types of therapy and a resource library, as well as information for family and friends to provide better support at home.
Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA)
The TAASA has a resource library of brochures for sexual assault survivors to read, as well as a crisis center locator. The site also has survivor stories and hotlines to help you know you are not alone.
You Are Not Alone
We hope these resources can help anyone who has survived a sexual assault or is supporting someone who was assaulted. Finding an attorney you can trust through this difficult time can also be important to help with recovery.
Our team at The Carlson Law Firm is dedicated to providing sexual assault survivors with compassionate support and steadfast legal help.
