[Waco, TX]—On July 26, The Carlson Law Firm distributed 600 backpacks at its fifth annual backpack giveaway. Hundreds of families from Waco and surrounding communities joined the firm’s Waco staff at the Carlson Cares Party With A Purpose, where they received backpacks compliant with Waco ISD policies and filled with school supplies.
Waco area families with school-aged children are set to start the school year stronger with new backpacks and school supplies.
“We’re proud to be a part of a community that shows up for its kids,” said Dominic Braus, partner at The Carlson Law Firm’s Waco office. “Every backpack we give away is more than just school supplies—it’s a message that these students matter and their education matters.”
According to Deloitte’s 18th annual Back-to-School Survey, families expect to spend an average of $570 per child during this back-to-school season. Through its Carlson Cares outreach program, the firm provided up to three clear backpacks loaded with school supplies to help lighten the load of back-to-school expenses.
Carlson also provided entertainment to close out the summer with a smile. Children of all ages enjoyed several activities, including fun bouncy houses and even a water slide. In addition, the firm catered Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches for the whole family. Three lucky parents received a $100 HEB gift card to boost their home supply of snacks and lunches.
“This event is one of our favorite traditions,” said Braus. “Watching families leave with smiles and students excited about school—it reminds us why we do what we do.”
