Drew Simmons

Born in Lubbock, Drew Simmons has deep roots in West Texas. His early years were spent in New Mexico, and he later attended high school in Austin, but Lubbock has always felt like home. Whether returning for Texas Tech football games or spending time with family, he found himself drawn back by the city’s people, culture and hardworking spirit.

After earning his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, Drew developed an interest in the law. In order to better understand how the legal system and government operates and impacts people, Drew pursued his law degree at the University of Houston Law Center.

Before joining The Carlson Law Firm, Drew practiced business litigation, where he handled matters involving property rights, eminent domain and contracts. That experience built a strong foundation for analyzing complex legal disputes, negotiating resolutions and advocating for clients facing major financial and legal challenges.

These experiences and his skills in client advocacy led him to his current focus, which gives the opportunity to work more directly with people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. While his current practice centers on injury cases, he still has a strong professional interest in land use, agriculture and eminent domain law.

He believes effective representation begins with honest conversations, clear expectations and treating every client as an individual rather than another case file. Instead of relying on the same advice for everyone, he recognizes that every legal situation has unique circumstances that deserve a personalized approach.

Drew prides himself on his negotiation skills. One milestone that stands out in Drew’s legal career was successfully handling his first solo mediation. The outcome exceeded the expectations of both the clients and the attorneys involved, reinforcing the value of careful preparation, effective communication and problem-solving.

Drew measures success by helping improve the lives of the people he services while providing for his own family. He always hopes to leave the life of every client and every situation better than he found it.
