Kathryn L Knotts

Partner

Kathryn was 9 years old when she acted in her school production of “Santa Claus on Trial”. It was at this point that she knew she wanted to be an attorney. That ambition stayed with her throughout her academic career, she began noticing inequality in her community. Kathryn applied to the Baylor University of School Law with dreams of becoming an attorney who could help injured persons. She knew that she wanted to fight for clients to ensure they were treated fairly and not taken advantage by a system and industry that did not have their best interest at heart.

Experience on your side

Kathryn L. Knotts is a Bryan-based personal injury attorney with two decades of experience representing Texans who have been injured through no fault of their own. Since joining The Carlson Law Firm in 2005, she has spent her career successfully representing clients in car collisions, premises liability and personal injury cases.

Kathryn is known for taking a thorough approach to each case, examining not only how an injury occurred but what steps could have prevented it. In premises liability matters, she works to identify unsafe conditions and push for changes that help reduce the risk of future harm to others.

Clients often turn to Kathryn during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. She takes pride in helping them understand their options and guiding them through the legal process with clarity and care. Her goal is to help clients move forward after an injury while holding negligent parties accountable.

Kathryn is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is licensed to practice in all Texas state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

In addition to her legal practice, Kathryn is deeply involved in professional and community leadership, including serving as vice president of the North Zulch Independent School District Board of Trustees, North Zulch PTO, Christ Church in College Station and Acara Hospice Foundation.

Kathryn maintains active involvement with several professional organizations, including the American Business Women’s Association, where she frequently speaks at leagues across the state. She is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Brazos County Bar Association.

Her work and leadership have been recognized throughout her career, including being named a Super Lawyers Rising Star and receiving multiple national honors through the American Business Women’s Association, including being recognized as the 2018 American Business Woman of ABWA.

Outside the office, Kathryn describes herself as a busy mom who spends much of her free time in bleachers, on sidelines or waiting in parking lots for her son’s sports and culinary classes. She enjoys fishing with her husband and participates in C.A.S.T. (Couples Association of Sports Tournament). A longtime cookbook collector, Kathryn is also learning to sharpen her culinary skills as her son pursues his own interest in becoming a chef.
