FORT HOOD, Texas – The Carlson Law Firm joined local businesses, organizations and military resources at Hood Howdy on Aug. 18 to welcome soldiers and military families to Fort Hood and the Central Texas community.
Held at the Lone Star Conference Center, Hood Howdy gives newcomers and longtime residents an opportunity to connect with local businesses, agencies and Family and MWR programs serving the Fort Hood community.
The Carlson Law Firm served as an event sponsor and hosted a table, where firm members met with soldiers and families, distributed free items and helped welcome attendees to the area.
Connecting With Soldiers and Families at Fort Hood
For military families, arriving at a new duty station often means getting acquainted with an entirely new community. Hood Howdy brings many of the organizations and resources available throughout Fort Hood and Central Texas together in one place.
For members of The Carlson Law Firm team, participating also provided an opportunity to show their appreciation for the soldiers and families who call the area home.
“Soldiers and their families sacrifice so much, and as a military spouse, it means a lot to me to have the opportunity to welcome them to Fort Hood,” said Danielle Mott, community outreach coordinator at The Carlson Law Firm. “The Carlson Law Firm is veteran-owned, so supporting veterans, active-duty service members and military families is something that means a great deal to all of us.”
Throughout the event, attendees stopped by The Carlson Law Firm’s table to ask questions and pick up complimentary items while exploring the other organizations represented at Hood Howdy.

Supporting the Fort Hood Military Community
The Carlson Law Firm has deep ties to the military community in Central Texas, with many members of the firm having experienced military life themselves. That experience gives members of the team a personal understanding of the transitions military families can face when moving to a new installation.
“Moving to a new duty station means learning a new community, finding schools and figuring out where to turn when you need something,” said Roxanne Martin, attorney at The Carlson Law Firm and former military spouse. “Events like Hood Howdy help families make those connections and feel welcome. I was so grateful to be a helping hand during the transition.”
Fort Hood's soldiers and families live throughout Killeen, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple and surrounding areas, making the installation an important part of life across Central Texas.
Events like Hood Howdy help connect military families with their neighbors while introducing them to businesses, organizations and resources available both on- and off-post.

Proud to Serve Our Central Texas Community
The Carlson Law Firm is proud to support the soldiers, veterans and military families throughout Fort Hood and Central Texas. Participating in Hood Howdy is one way the firm stays connected to the people and communities it serves beyond the courtroom.
Through community involvement and charitable initiatives, The Carlson Law Firm continues to support families across Central Texas. The firm thanks Fort Hood Family and MWR for bringing the community together for Hood Howdy 2026 and everyone who stopped by to meet our professionals.
