KILLEEN, Texas – Volunteers from The Carlson Law Firm distributed food and assisted more than 600 people at the Killeen Food Care Center in August.
Members of the firm joined Food Care Center staff to give back to the Central Texas community. Volunteering at the center is a favorite among Carlson Cares volunteers and is part of an ongoing relationship between the organizations.
Returning to the Food Care Center gives firm staff an opportunity to support an organization that provides an important resource for Killeen-area families.
“The Killeen Food Care Center does incredible work for families in our community, and it’s always rewarding to have our staff come out and be part of it,” said Craig Carlson, managing partner at The Carlson Law Firm. “Serving more than 600 people shows how great the need is and how much we can accomplish when we come together as a community.”
Carlson Cares Volunteers Help Serve Killeen Families
During the volunteer day, members of The Carlson Law Firm helped distribute fresh produce and other groceries to community members visiting the Killeen Food Care Center. By the end of the event, volunteers had helped serve more than 600 people.
The work gave volunteers a hands-on opportunity to help local families while assisting the Food Care Center with its ongoing efforts to address food insecurity in the Killeen community.
An Ongoing Relationship with the Killeen Food Care Center
The August volunteer day was not the first time Carlson Cares has worked alongside the Killeen Food Care Center. The center is one of the community organizations The Carlson Law Firm supports throughout the year, making the volunteer day especially meaningful.
Supporting the Food Care Center throughout the year gives Carlson Cares volunteers opportunities to contribute in different ways, from donating resources to helping distribute food to hundreds of Central Texans.
That continued relationship reflects the purpose behind Carlson Cares: finding ways for The Carlson Law Firm and its staff to serve the same communities that have supported the firm.
More Than a Day of Volunteering
