18 Wheeler Accident Near Groesbeck Kills One
An 18 wheeler truck accident on Texas Highway 164 claimed the life of a man who had pulled his vehicle to the side of the highway in an effort to allow a vehicle behind to pass, police said.
According to reports 70-year-old Mort Stepp smashed into an 18 wheeler truck when he pulled over. Stepp was killed when another vehicle crashed into his Toyota Tacoma, said Department of Public Safety officials.
Authorities said the driver of the 18 wheeler truck was attempting to turn off the highway near the Vulcan Sand and Gravel at the time of the collision. Police believe Stepp may not have seen the 18 wheeler as he pulled off the highway. A third vehicle, a Ford F-150 pickup truck smashed into the Toyota, killing Stepp.
Police said Stepp was pronounced dead at the scene of the Groesbeck 18 wheeler accident. No other drivers were injured in the truck accident.
