A driver paying at a toll booth was killed in a Texas 18 wheeler accident Friday morning, Houston officials said.

The early morning truck accident resulted when the tractor trailer slammed into a low barrier made of concrete and subsequently crashed into the car stopped at the unmanned toll booth.

The fatal truck crash also left the driver of the 18 wheeler dead. Both drivers were reportedly trapped inside their vehicles.

While the names of the victims in the Texas accident have not yet been released, pending notification of family members, traffic on North Sam Houston Parkway has been diverted while officials rush to clean the wreckage.

Harris County officials will be conducting toxicology tests to detemine if the truck driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
