5-year-old Killed in Tractor Trailer Collision

An 18 wheeler collision on I-35 in Belton with a Toyota sedan, Tuesday, claimed the life of a 5-year-old child.

Police said, the Toyota rear-ended the 18 wheeler truck, which was traveling southbound on I-35 near Loop 121.

The driver of the Toyota and one other child were transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. The driver of the tractor trailer was also injured in the crash, Belton authorities said. The 5-year-old was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

Officials are unsure what caused the crash and are still investigating the I-35 18 wheeler accident.
