An 18-wheeler truck collided with a Subaru in Alamo this afternoon, resulting in the death of one man and injury of two others, Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers said. The two men in the Subaru are being reported as brothers. One died in the accident and the other is injured, officials at the scene said.
The man killed in the accident was ejected from the vehicle and authorities speculate he was not wearing a seatbelt.
Power lines were knocked down by the 18 wheeler truck and remained in contact with the trucking, making rescue efforts difficult.
The truck driver was trapped beneath the dashboard as EMS representatives, troopers and power company employees struggled to free him without upsetting dangling power lines.
The names of accident victims have not yet been released as investigations continue.
