An Arlington drunk driving accident killed two adults and one child early Wednesday morning, closing down I-30 in Northern Texas, officials said.

The driver, who police say sparked the DWI collision was identified by police as 41-year-old Benjamon Ray Stewart. He was charged with three counts of intoxication manslaughter for the deaths of the three other people involved.

Police believe Stewart’s vehicle rear ended another vehicle, leaving it stranded in the roadway, where it was struck by a pickup truck hauling a landscaping trailer.

According to a report published by the Dallas News, Stewart was previously charged with a DWI in 2002.

Although the identities of the victims involved in the crash have not yet been released, authorities said one of the adults and the child were cut from the wreckage and transported to a local hospital, where they later died as a result of the injuries they sustained.

Stewart attempted to leave the scene of the accident, officials reported. He is also being charged with failure to stop and render aid.
