Austin Capital Metro Bus Accident Injures 8

An Austin Capital Metro bus collided with an SUV on Tuesday afternoon, sending at least five people to the hospital, authorities told the Austin Statesman.

Two people occupying the SUV had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency workers with the fire department, officials said.

The bus accident in Austin occurred at the intersection of Newfield Lane and Enfield Road at approximately 1:40 p.m.

In total, eight people were injured and either treated and checked at the scene of transported to area hospitals. No update has been provided regarding their conditions but officials told KVUE their injuries were non-life threatening.
