Fatal Hit and Run Car Accident in Austin Claims Life of Young Woman
A hit and run car accident in Austin that claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman resulted in charges against a 23-year-old man, who officials said failed to render aid when he wrecked the Mustang he was driving.
Police identified the young woman who was killed as 20-year-old Elizabeth Nowak, a passenger in the Mustang that was driven by Tommie Lee Egger.
Authorities believe the vehicle veered off the roadway, sparking the fatal accident on Twilight Shadow Drive and causing the car to smash into a mailbox and nearby light pole.
Egger, reportedly, fled the scene of the Austin car accident on foot. He later turned himself in to police after police tracked the vehicle to Egger’s father, who owned the Mustang. According to the Austin Statesman, Egger’s father identified him as a frequent driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal car accident in Austin.
