Four Injured, One Dead in Hwy 6 Accident in Speegleville, Texas
A head on collision on Highway 6 in Speegleville, Texas left one man dead and sent four people in another vehicle to the hospital with serious injuries, police reported on Saturday.
The driver of a 2005 mini cooper, 42-year-old John Matthew Baumgardner, was identified as the fatality in the car accident in McClennan County, officials said.
According to police reports, Baumgardner was traveling on the frontage road of Highway 6 when he failed to yield the right of way, sparking the collision with a Chevy HHR.
The driver of the Chevrolet HHR was identified as 23-year-old James Esquivel Sr.
Passengers in the Chevy were identified as 23-year-old Daisy Jaimes, 4-year-old Annalysa Esquivel and 1-year-old James Esquivel Jr.
The 1-year-old was transported to Scott & White in Temple and was recently listed in stable condition.
Esquivel Sr. was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, along with the other two passengers, and was recently listed in serious condition. Annalyssa and Jaimes were listed in stable condition.
