Authorities identified the man killed in the Houston construction accident as 56-year-old Louis Ruiz, a resident of Porter.
Police said Ruiz was in the cab of the crane, which was smashed in the Texas construction accident. Emergency officials were not able to free Ruiz from the wreckage until 7 p.m.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) officials were investigating the scene of the construction accident to reveal what may have caused the crane to overturn.
The prevention of construction accidents often require careful training, proper equipment and equipment maintenance as well as the adherence to necessary procedures. In some situations the failure of a company to adequately prepare employees and provide necessary safety equipment can result in serious injuries and even death.
