Lubbock woman seriously injured in vehicle rollover
38-year-old Rosemary Vallejos was ejected from her vehicle when it rolled over during a crash Monday afternoon in South Lubbock County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the rollover accident happened around 3:30p.m., about a mile south of Woodrow Road.
Reports state that the white Dodge pickup was traveling northbound on FM 1730, and went over the edge of the road. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to cross into the southbound lanes. The pickup rolled several times, ejecting Vallejos, who was the only passenger.
The victim was found by construction workers and residents in the bed of the pickup, where she landed. She was taken by lifeflight to University Medical Center.
A gas meter was struck during the course of the accident, but was repaired by Atmos Energy workers.
