A man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident in San Antonio, Wednesday evening, when he tried to cross Austin Highway to call a cab, police said.

After the 32-year-old man was struck by the vehicle, which police have not yet identified, the car did not stop and, instead, sped away from the scene of the hit-and-run accident.

The victim of the hit-and-run was found by the driver of another vehicle, who was driving past the scene of the crash.

The man was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he was, later, pronounced dead after succumbing to his injuries.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this Texas hit-and-run accident.

One of the most important things a driver can do when involved in an accident is make sure the other parties involved are ok and provide and exchange identification. Insurance information, license numbers and insurance policy numbers are just some of the types of information those involved in a Texas car accident should be ready to exchange.

Even when an accident may not be a driver’s fault, it is better to stay at the scene of the auto collision and provide other parties involved with basic information while obtaining that information from them as well. In some states, drivers who do not stay at the scene of a car accident and exchange their information with others involved can be charged with a hit and run.
