A Houston senior from Alief High School was injured in a Metro bus accident on Monday afternoon, sending her to the hospital in critical condition, officials said.
The girl was only identified as a 17-year-old student. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
According to police, there was no crosswalk where the young girl was struck. Although police said investigations are still underway, Metro spokespeople reported that the young girl may have been standing on a median before crossing the street and being struck by the Metro bus in Houston.
The bus accident in Houston occurred on Bellaire Boulevard at approximately 3 p.m., police noted.
