Mother, son killed, two more injured in single vehicle accident

A vehicle roll over has claimed the life of a mother and son in Moore County. Amanda Beatriz Rosale, 31 of Spearman and her son Gabriel Rosales, 8, died when their Ford F-150 drove off the road on curve when the driver over-corrected causing the vehicle to roll several times before ejecting three of the vehicle’s four occupants.

The accident occurred on Farm-to-Market Road 119, southwest of Sunray.

According to police, Julio Mendez, 3, and Armando Mendoza,34, were also in the vehicle and that Armando was the only one believed to be wearing a seat belt. The two were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities believe that the driver may have been using a cellphone when the accident occurred. Investigation in underway.
