Pickup, 18-wheeler collide in Falls County
A crash involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler has left one driver seriously injured.
According to authorities a pickup truck was headed north on FM 1771 in Falls County at approximately 1 p.m. when the driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a westbound 18-wheeler.
The 18-wheeler hit the passenger side of the truck, which caused the vehicle to spin as the rig overturned across both lanes of traffic.
The driver of the pickup, who is said to be a 64-year-old from Marquez, was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco via air ambulance with serious injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, a 40-year-old from Alabama, was taken by ambulance to Falls Community Hospital in Marlin with what are reported to be minor injuries.
