When a rollover accident occurs, there is often an object, other vehicle, debris or hazard in the road that may have tripped a vehicle up and caused it to become imbalanced. In addition, loss of control and overcorrection can sometimes be traced back to a rollover, which can be an even greater risk for SUV’s and trucks with higher centers of gravity.

Although rollover accidents in Austin and across Texas can be a dangerous phenomenon in and of itself, rollovers become even riskier when safety equipment does not function properly. Seatbelts, airbags, roof pillars and other safety equipment in a car is supposed to safeguard occupants, protecting vulnerable areas of the body from enduring neck injuries, head injuries, spinal injuries and even brain injuries that can sometimes occur when defective equipment does not prevent the roof of a vehicle from crushing.

While protection from roof crush and debilitating injuries accompanying is vital to keeping car occupants safe, vehicles must also be equipped with functioning seatbelts and reliable airbags, which should help keep passengers and drivers in the vehicle during the instance of a rollover accident.
