Salado Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Car Accident in Belton

A multi-vehicle auto accident in Belton claimed the life of a young Salado woman when a pickup truck veered into her lane of traffic on FM 1670 Sunday night, police reported.

The young woman who was killed in the collision in rural Texas was identified as 20-year-old Brianne Nicole Pratt, a resident of Salado.

According to Belton police, a pickup truck swerved into Pratt’s lane of traffic, smashing into her Dodge Stratus in a head on collision. One other vehicle, identified as a Mercury, was also involved in the car crash.

The accident took place around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday evening.

The driver of the Dodge pickup that struck Pratt’s vehicle was identified as 24-year-old Temple resident, Michael Alexander Soto. As a result of the accident, Soto was charged with driving with an invalid driver’s license, police reported.

The name of the driver and whether they were injured in the Central Texas car accident was not released. Police said Soto may be facing additional charged related to the accident.
