Two Young Boys Killed in Rollover Accident in Bexar County

A Bexar County car accident left two young children dead on Thursday evening when their mother, who was driving the SUV they were all riding in, lost control of the vehicle. One of the boys was pinned beneath the SUV. The other was ejected during the rollover crash.

The first boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the San Antonio car accident, was only identified as a 4-year-old. The other boy, who was pinned beneath and died after being transported to an area hospital, was identified as a 5-year-old.

Police believe the woman, who has not been identified, swerved and overcorrected, losing control of the SUV before crashing into a nearby median and overturning.

Three adults were in the vehicle at the time of the single vehicles crash. They were treated for minor injuries. Officials do not believe that anyone was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The names and updated conditions of the victims have not yet been released and police are still investigating.

Despite the standards in place for protecting occupants, drivers and passengers from serious harm during the instance of a wreck or rollover accident, flawed vehicles and equipment leave victims vulnerable to head injuries, serious back injuries, neck injuries and ejection.

When seatbelts fail to operate as intended, whether a defective seatbelt latch comes apart unexpectedly or the design or materials are flawed, occupants may be thrown from a vehicle, especially during the instance of a rollover crash.

The various factors, pieces of equipment and components that may be tied to an auto defect or vehicle failure linked to an auto accident, can be extremely complex and require significant investigations. At The Carlson Law Firm, our team of research associates are experienced with the various elements of the investigation process, including the investigation of a crash scene, locating witnesses and unveiling vital information that helps our clients back up their case with facts while seeking fair compensation for their injuries or the loss of a loved one.
